At minimum, every small business should have operating agreements or bylaws, employment agreements, client/vendor contracts, and appropriate insurance documentation. Depending on your industry, you may also need regulatory compliance documents, non-disclosure agreements, and intellectual property protections.
While it's technically possible to create a power of attorney without a lawyer, we strongly recommend working with one. A properly drafted POA ensures your wishes are clearly stated, legally enforceable, and tailored to Colorado law. An improperly drafted POA can cause significant problems when you need it most.
